MANAGING DIRECTOR

Eric Lewis

Eric is a second-generation engineer and the son of LLAL founder Lauriston Lewis. He joined the firm carrying forward a family tradition of rigorous, standards-driven engineering practice and has spent his career deepening and modernising it. Eric leads LLAL’s structural engineering work with a particular specialisation in assessment and repair. He holds a Postgraduate qualification with Distinction in Structural Retrofitting, a field that encompasses the systematic assessment, recording, and valuation of structural defects and the design of appropriate repair solutions. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers (FIStructE) and formerly served on the institution’s Executive Committee, Caribbean Regional Group in the roles of Committee Member, Honorary Treasurer, and Honorary Chairman.

GENERAL MANAGER

Margarita Leonard

Margarita has been part of the LLAL team for over 25 years, beginning her professional training directly under the firm’s founder, Lauriston Lewis. As a second-generation construction professional and daughter of renowned Caribbean Quantity Surveyor Cleveland Leonard, she brings both deep institutional knowledge of the firm and a broad professional perspective shaped by decades at the intersection of engineering, management, and client service. Margarita is a Fellow of the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago (APETT) and has served the association at its highest levels, including as Honorary Secretary and President. She is also a Member of the Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago (BOETT)

PROJECT MANAGEMENT LEAD

Karen Medina

Karen has over 25 years of wide ranging experience spanning design, construction supervision, contract administration, risk management, negotiations, stakeholder management, financial management and procurement. Her postgraduate studies focused on public sector procurement with special interest in data-driven benchmarking and process design. Leveraging the methodologies and best-practice framework mastered as a Certified Project Management Professional, Karen proficiently manages complex projects within LLAL’s client portfolios.
